The goal of this web site is to expose the work of Vermont’s artists, artisans and craftspeople to the rest of the country, and the world, through the internet. We want to support the Vermont art and craft communities and help them make some money so they can continue to delight and amaze us with their skills and imaginations.

The basic outline of the site is:

Artists Listed by Last Name or by Category – You can look up an artist by name or by the category of work they do. You will then be connected to the artist’s page on the this site or to the artist's own web site to see samples of their work. I’ve already linked several hundred web sites directly to artist’s names hoping it will encourage artists and craftspeople to join.

Classes – If artists or craftspeople give classes or seminars, members can list them free of charge.

Classified Ads – If artists want to sell studio equipment they no longer use, or want to put out the word on some special materials they are seeking, they can do so for free when they join us. We don’t charge a commission on items sold through the classifieds, as long as it’s not artwork.

Open Studios – If artists have their studios open to the public on a regular basis, or if they’re having a special studio sale, they can list it here – free. I plan to list open studios by county or area so people out for a weekend drive can make a number of stops in a given locale.

Hire an Artist – If an artist or craftsperson normally makes a living doing something else, such as being an electrician, plumber, seamstress or house painter, they can put a listing on this page for free. This encourages people to hire artists to help sustain them, and it also helps artists keep their money within their own community.

As a service to the community, I’ve also provided a listing of Vermont Galleries to make it easier for artists to contact them, and a list of Art and Craft Organizations in the state to help artists when they need support.
